Senior Information Class of 2023

There will be three mandatory graduation rehearsals. It is essential that all members of the Class of 2023 planning to walk at commencement make it to practice and on time. We will take attendance at each practice, and we will wait until every senior is present before we begin. At each practice, seniors will run through the processional and recessional at least once, probably twice, at the first and second practice.

*Please note that all outstanding student fees will be collected at commencement practice. Students with outstanding obligations can participate in Commencement but will not be issued a diploma until obligations are resolved.

  • Radnor High School, main gymnasium
  • 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Seniors  must arrive through the main entrance by 8:45 a.m. and proceed to the auditorium lobby where they will pick up their seating assignment from one of the school counselors.
  • Seniors should also bring their Surface Go to either return it or have the controls removed.
  • At the rehearsals, we will run through every single senior's name to make sure we are pronouncing it properly.  
  • Caps/gowns will be distributed at the end of this rehearsal. Make sure you iron/steam (low heat!) your cap and gown so that it is ready for graduation day!

All seniors’ names for diplomas were verified with our graduation coordinators, Mrs. LaMon and Mrs. Peterson in the fall. If a change was requested, our graduation coordinators reached out to students’ parents or guardians to verify the change.

Please note that all outstanding student fees will be collected at commencement practice. Students with outstanding obligations can participate in Commencement but will not be issued a diploma until obligations are resolved.

The Class of 2023 will meet with our cap and gown company, Jostens, this Thursday, January 5th during an extended homeroom period in the RHS Main Gym. Please take some time to sit down with your senior and decide what merchandise you would like to purchase, if any, outside of a cap and gown. All merchandise can be ordered through Jostens' website. Any purchases other than a student’s cap and gown, will ship directly to your home a few weeks after the order is placed. Caps and gowns are shipped directly to the high school and will be handed out to seniors at their first graduation practice in June. 

Students may choose a white or maroon colored gown. Traditionally, young men usually wear a maroon gown, and young ladies wear a white gown. If your child has an older sibling, they are welcome to wear their sibling’s cap and gown, and only order a tassel. However if you choose to do so and the old gown is maroon, we cannot guarantee the maroon color of the old gown will be an exact match to this year’s batch of gowns. 

The cost of a cap, gown and tassel is $26.85, and the cost of a tassel is $14. Please make note of the order deadline below. If your child does not place an order by this date, they run the risk of not having a cap and gown for graduation. Productions times are significantly longer than in previous years because of supply chain issues. Students can pay in two different ways. Families can write a check in the amount of $26.85 made out to Radnor High School, or families can pay online through MySchoolBucks.com on or after January 5, 2023.

The deadline to order is Monday, January 16th.

*An important note: If your child is planning on wearing heels to graduation, please remind them to add the height of their heels to their total height when ordering a cap and gown on 1/5.*

Guests at Graduation
There is no limit to how many guests you can bring, and there are no tickets for graduation.

Length of Graduation
The length of the ceremony is approximately 90 minutes.

Masking
Masking is recommended but not required.

Parking at Graduation 
Parents should part in the I-1 garage  located at the corner of Ithan Avenue and Lancaster Avenue. Villanova University Parking Map  

Handicap Parking Passes
If a member of your family requires a handicap pass, please stop by the security desk in the main office on or after June 1 to pick one up.

Senior Arrival for Graduation
Seniors must arrive at Villanova at 2:30 p.m., and report to the Finneran Pavilion.

Family Arrival for Graduation
Doors open for our families at 3 p.m.

Surface Go Devices
Seniors will need to return their Surface Go laptop to RHS, bring a check for outstanding payments, and/or bring a check for final purchase payment prior to graduation. All students, purchasing or returning, will need to return their device to the high school prior to graduation. 

If your child is purchasing their device, they will need to bring a check with outstanding payments (if applicable) and a final payment installment along with their device to leave with our technicians who will reset the device and wipe off all district software and security. Purchased devices will be available for pickup in mid-July. 

If your child is returning their device, they will need to bring a check with outstanding payments (if applicable) and their device to the high school technology help desk.

Payment status can be checked in HAC under "Registration > Fees", in the email sent to families on May 5th, or your child can see Mrs. Lahey in the main office. All seniors should return their Surface Go prior to or on the first graduation practice day.

Purchasing Device - FYI:
If your family plans on purchasing your child’s device, the below breakdown may be helpful with finding out how much your family may owe towards the full cost of the device ($556).

•   If you have paid for one year ($139), you will need to bring a check for $417 made out to Radnor Township School District, and your device.
•   If you have paid for two years ($278), you will need to bring a check for $278 made out to Radnor Township School District, and your device.
•   If you have paid for three years ($417), you will need to bring a check for $139 made out to Radnor Township School District, and your device.
•   If you have completely paid for your device ($556), you will not to bring anything but the device.
