Below is a calendar events hosted by the School Counseling Department. Each event description notes a target grade level and audience. Locations and times will be posted and communicated closer to each event. After each event, we will post a recording or any relevant materials, if available.
Counselor Chat
Second Tuesday of every month (2/11, 3/11, 4/8, 5/20) • Zoom
Join us at 8:45 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month September – April to stay informed of departmental happenings, updates, and hot topics from the counseling department. Our chats will be no more than 30 minutes and held via Zoom. We look forward to regular communication with our community.
Special Topics in College Admissions: Select-a-Session

The post-secondary planning process is unique to each individual student, and there are additional considerations for certain populations of students. Join us for a “select-a-session” event focused on special considerations during the college process. The evening will be a virtual program, and students and parents can choose which sessions to attend based on their individual interests and circumstances.

Sophomore Springboard
February 20, 2025 at 6:30 PM – 8 PM, Virtual on Microsoft Teams
Students and families in 10th grade are invited to join the counseling team to explore postsecondary options and begin thinking long-term. Everything from self-awareness and reflection, activities and involvements, high school timelines and postsecondary testing will be discussed. Please join us for this comprehensive program to maximize the rest of tenth grade and best prepare for the final years of high school and beyond.
College Admissions Panel
March 6, 2025 at 6:30 PM -8 PM, RHS Auditorium
Juniors and their parents are invited to a discussion panel with representatives from a range of colleges and universities. The panel will touch on hot topics such as the current admissions landscapes, standardized testing, the college essay, application review and more. Students and families will be asked to submit relevant questions ahead of time.
Freshman Parent Transition Program
March 19, 2025 at 6:30 PM – 8 PM
This program will provide current ninth grade parents with an overview of the Counseling program available from 10th through 12th grades, including the supports provided by both the School Counselors and the College and Career Counselors.
