Below is a calendar events hosted by the School Counseling Department. Each event description notes a target grade level and audience. Locations and times will be posted and communicated closer to each event. After each event, we will post a recording or any relevant materials, if available.

Senior College Planning Night - Thursday, September 7, 2023

All seniors and their parents were invited to attend an information program outlining the nuts and bolts of the college application process. Important information about requesting documentation, completing applications, and the various supports available to students throughout the fall were discussed in detail. 9th Grade Parent Orientation

High School 101 – Thursday, September 28, 2023

This program will provide information for current 9th grade parents and students as they begin their high school career. Topics will include the structure and services provided by the Counseling Office, as well as academic and mental health supports in the building.

Junior Post-Secondary Kickoff Event – Thursday, November 30, 2023

Juniors along with their parents are invited to attend our kick-off event as juniors embark on their post-secondary planning journey. Our college & career counselors will walk students and their families through each step of the planning process, including the college search and finding the right fit, standardized testing, visiting campuses and alternative post-secondary options. We will also review the support available to juniors and their families at Radnor High School.

FAFSA Completion Night – Wednesday, January 17, 2024

Seniors and their parents/guardians are invited to come to Radnor High School to get help filling out their FAFSA application. Families will have the support of a representative from Pennsylvania Higher Education Access Agency (PHEAA) to answer personal questions. We ask that families planning to attend this event RSVP for planning purposes via a link provided closer to the event. Prior to attending the event, students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) should create an FSA ID.

Sophomore Springboard Program – Wednesday, March 13, 2024

Sophomores and their parents are invited to learn more about the various post-secondary options, standardized testing associated with these options and what planning steps they may start thinking about now. Our college & career counselors will also go over the scope and sequence of the post-secondary planning curriculum for eleventh and twelfth grade

Freshman Parent Transition & Science of Anxiety - Wednesday, March 20, 2024

This program will provide ninth grade parents with an overview of the Counseling program available from 10th through 12th grades, including the supports provided by both the School Counselors and the College and Career Counselors. In addition, parents will learn about the science of anxiety, using the same lesson that students receive in health classes.

Financial Aid Night (9th – 11th Grade) – Thursday, April 4, 2024

Parents of ninth, tenth and eleventh graders are invited to learn more about the college financial aid process. We will be joined by representatives from Pennsylvania Higher Education Access Agency (PHEAA) as well as Financial Aid Officers at local colleges.

Junior Spring Panel – Thursday, April 25, 2024

Juniors and their parents are invited to a discussion panel with representatives from a range of colleges and universities. The panel will touch on hot topics such as the current admissions landscapes, standardized testing, the college essay, application review and more. Students and families will be asked to submit relevant questions ahead of time.
