Below is a calendar events hosted by the School Counseling Department. Each event description notes a target grade level and audience. Locations and times will be posted and communicated closer to each event. After each event, we will post a recording or any relevant materials, if available.

Counselor Chat

Second Tuesday of the month • via Zoom
(4/14)

Join us at 8:45 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month, September – April (excluding November) to stay informed of departmental happenings, updates, and hot topics from the counseling department. Our chats will be no more than 30 minutes and held via Zoom. We look forward to regular communication with our community.

Special Topics in College Admissions: Lunch & Learn Series

The post-secondary planning process is unique to each individual student, and there are additional considerations for certain populations of students. We are hosting a spring workshop series focused on special considerations during the college process and post-secondary planning. The sessions will be a virtual, and students and parents are invited to attend based on their individual interests and circumstances. Learn more about each session below:

Students with Learning Differences and Academic Support at the College Level

April 15th, 11:24 AM - 11:54 AM via Zoom

This session will discuss the transition to college for students with IEPs and 504s. We will cover what a prospective student should consider when researching a college as well as the process of applying for accommodations once accepted to and enrolled at a college. This session is appropriate for students with IEPs and 504s in grades 9 – 12 who intend to pursue higher education after high school.

Gap Year

Are you feeling like you may not want (or be ready) to enroll in college right after high school? Join us to learn more about what a Gap Year is, what the benefits are to participating in a gap year program, what the different opportunities are, and how to search for the right program for you. This session is appropriate for students in grades 9 – 12.

High Priority Occupations: Exploring Trade and Technical Education

Certain occupations are rising in terms of need and salary. Learn more about what these are and how to pursue a certification or degree related to them.
