RHS Jazz Band Competes in National Festival
On Saturday, February 10, the RHS Honors jazz Band competed at the 5th Annual National Jazz Festival in Philadelphia. As a result of their participation, 3 students, Jack St. Amand, Shane Lofton, and Chase Carlton were chosen through audition, a video submission highlighting their playing and improvisational skills, for the National Jazz Diplomats All-Star Band.
The band gathered for the first time on February 16 to play at the Clef Club in Philadelphia under the direction of Wayne Tucker and Larry Price. The students performed with players from all over the country. On Saturday February 17 the students performed 7 impressive selections for the NJA Awards ceremony.
