Twenty-one RHS Juniors Recognized at Annual Junior Book Awards
Twenty-one Radnor High School juniors were honored with 25 academic awards at the annual Junior Awards Night on May 17 in the Radnor High School library. In addition to certificates of achievement, recipients received a book gifted by RHS principal PT Kevgas.
Adeyombo Adesanya, Emily Anagnos, Sophie Carter, Defne Doken, Natalie Dumin, Nicholas Frascella, Amanda Glanzmann, Theodore He, Gabriela Herberling, Sofie Jubelirer, Jacob Kellerman, Renata Kozlowska, Margaret Lebaudy, Garrett Mayover, William Meyer, Caroline Monahan, Aidan Oliver, Cara Ruggieri, Finn Ryan, Julia Salinero, Grace Xu all received awards at the ceremony, which was attended by the awardees' families.
Junior Book Awards 2023
A Better Chance Excellence Award is presented to the junior who is recognized for outstanding academic performance, contributions to Radnor High School's community and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Recipient 2023: Adeyombo Adesanya
Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award honors outstanding (juniors only) high school science students. The recipient is to be chosen on the basis of academic achievement in science – presented to the outstanding science student in the junior class.
Recipient 2023: Aidan Oliver
Brandeis College Book Award is presented to an outstanding high school junior in the top 10% of the class who demonstrates a commitment to civic engagement, community service, political activism, social justice, or volunteer work.

Bryn Mawr College Book Award is presented to a student who demonstrates an intense intellectual commitment, a self-directed and purposeful vision of her life and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

Colgate University Book Award is presented to a junior who has achieved high academic distinction, ranking in the top five to ten percent of the class while undertaking a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, combined with outstanding leadership in the school or community.

Cornell University Book Award is presented to a junior in the top ten percent of the class who has demonstrated creative problem solving in the arts and sciences or whose commitment to service shows a concern for global issues.

DAR American History Award is presented to a junior who is academcially outstanding in the study of American history.

Drexel University Book Award is presented to a junior who is enrolled in a rigorous academic program, is in the top ten percent of the class, is a recognized leader in community service, environmental affairs, student government, athletics, journalism, technology/science or performing arts, demonstrates high personal and academic integrity and is highly respected by peers and faculty.

Gettysburg College Book Award is presented to a member of the junior class who evidences a dedication to scholarship and a passion for learning.

Harvard University Book Award is presented to the outstanding student in the junior class who combines excellence in scholarship with achievement in other fields. The purpose is to recognize breadth of interest as well as scholastic achievements.

The Julian M. Zekan Integrity Award exemplifies integrity, modesty, compassion for others, courage of conviction, and surmounting daily obstacles without complaint or self-pity, but with integrity and a sense of humor.

Latin Book Award is presented to a student for his/her enthusiasm and hard work in the study of Latin and Roman culture.

Princeton Club of Philadelphia Book Award is presented to a high honors student in the junior class who has provided exemplary student community service.

Randolph-Macon College Book Award is presented to an excellent student scholastically who is also a well-rounded individual and is an active participant in extra-curricular activities.

Rensselaer Medal in Science and Mathematics is presented to the junior girl or boy who demonstrates excellence in mathematics and science. They are also in top 10%. Excel in math and science courses (chemistry and physics). Involvement in extracurricular activities.

Saint Anselm College Book Award is presented to the junior who exercises academic achievement, has an awareness of social responsibility, displays leadership qualities and possesses strong character.

Smith College Book Award is presented to a student in the junior class for academic excellence; active involvement with and service to the community – both school and community at large; demonstrated leadership; sense of inner strength and self-assurance.

Society of Women Engineers is presented to juniors who completed 3 years of math and science, and who demonstrated excellence in these.

St. John's College Award is presented to a student in recognition of a love of reading, exemplary enthusiasm for learning, and eagerness to pursue understanding through discussion.

University of Pennsylvania Book Award is presented to a junior student of “true merit” who ranks within the top five or ten percent of the junior class and is a leader in one or more of the following areas: student government, music, drama, athletics, journalism, civics, forensics, or community service. The student should demonstrate high personal academic integrity and be highly respected by peers and faculty.
