Board Approves 2022-23 Instructional Calendar
The Radnor Township School District School Board approved the district calendar for the 2022-23 school year at the December 21, 2021 Business Meeting.
The calendar includes five, two-hour late starts to the school day to provide for professional development for district faculty (Sept. 21 for K-12; Oct. 19 for K-12; Dec. 14 for K-12; March 17 for 6-12; and April 19 for K-12).
The establishment of these late-start days allows the district to dedicate time for important trainings for staff while addressing the current lack of substitute teachers in the district and nation. Less substitutes impacts the professional development opportunities for employees because without adequate substitutes, teachers and staff are unable to leave their classroom or office to attend the trainings. So far this school year, the district already had to cancel several trainings due to lack of substitutes.
The 2022-23 calendar also maintains a full Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 22-25); Winter Break (Dec. 23- Jan. 2); and Spring Break (April 3-7).
The document is available below in PDF format and the dates have been added to the RTSD calendar online.
