RHS Seniors Named 2021 National Merit Scholarship Winners

Nathaniel Jean and Prabhgun Oberoi were recently named 2022 National Merit Scholarship winners out of a pool of more than 15,000 finalists. Both awarded $2500 scholarships sponsored by NMSC.

21-22 Calendar Update

Since no snow days were used this year, the three days built into the calendar at the end of the year were removed, moving the last day of school from June 21 to June 16.

Class of 2022 Commencement Will Return to Finneran Pavilion

In a message to families, Principal Kevgas announces that, for the first time since 2019, the RHS graduation ceremony will take place inside the Finneran Pavilion at Villanova University on June 8, 2022.

Three RHS Students Receive Honors in USA Biolympiad

Senior Prabghun Oberoi was awarded Honorable Mention and sophomore Arav Menon and junior Lauren Yoo Certificates of Merit for their performances on the USABO Online Open Exam.

Skyler Le was first RHS student in almost a decade to qualify to take the USAMO based on his scores on the American Math Competition 12 and American Invitational Math Exam.

RHS German Students Earn Accolades on National Exam

Thirteen students earned medals for their performance on the National German Exam sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German, which was administered online in January.

21-22 Calendar Update

The last school day is currently June 21 and no snow days have been used so far this year. If the district continues to not have to use any snow days, the last day would move to June 16.

All students, staff and visitors can determine their own masking status beginning Feb. 24 after an unanimous Board vote approving changes to the Radnor Health and Safety Plan on Feb. 22.

Radnor Township School District was full of holiday cheer on Dec. 22 as students across the district sang songs of the season before heading out for Winter Break. Classes resume January 3, 2022.

The top-seeded Radnor team finished an historic 2021 season by making the State Championship in Hershey on November 20. The state appearance followed the team's first District Championship since 2000.

School Board Action

Board-approved on Dec. 21, the calendar includes five, two-hour late starts to the school day to provide for professional development and maintains a full Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break.

 RADMUN Wins "Outstanding Delegation" Award at Rutgers

Radnor Model UN earned the top team recognition, as well as seven other awards, at the Model United Nations Conference in New Brunswick, NJ in late November, the team's first in-person competition in nearly two years.

In response to the Dec. 10 PA Supreme Court ruling, Superintendent Batchelor reminds our school community that masks are still required in RTSD buildings. Discussion on possible next steps concerning masking in RTSD will take place Dec. 21.

A Message from the Superintendent

In effort to "save summer days," asynchronous, synchronous, or both methods of teaching and learning will take place when school must be closed for a weather or other emergency. Snow days will still be called depending on the storm and circumstances.

The Board unanimously elected Goldman and Dunn to the leadership positions at its Reorganization meeting on Dec. 7. Dunn was also sworn in to a new four-year term with fellow re-elected Board members Andrew Babson, Esq., Lydia T. Solomon and Susan Stern.

Pete Henkel Crowned Homecoming King, Lucy Henkel Queen

The Class of 2022 honored a beloved classmate by selecting Pete, who was born with spinal muscular atrophy and passed away in 2018 while a student at RMS. He would've been a senior this year. Lucy is Pete's twin sister.

Radnor High School Inducts 110 Into National Honor Society

Created in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate the four pillars of the institution: scholarship, service, leadership and character.

With face masks now required for all RTSD students, staff, and visitors when indoors, gaiter-style masks are again no longer permitted as an acceptable form of mask. This adheres to CDC guidance first announced in a message and followed by the district in February 2021.

With RTSD since 2006, Raines has experience with career and technical readiness; diversity, equity and inclusion; and other initiatives centered on student supports. In addition to the Assistant Principal of Student Affairs, Raines will be the RHS House Principal for grades 10 and 12.

Theodore He, Nathaniel Jean, Jessica Wang, Mia Xie, Lauren Yoo and Benjamin Zhao were honored during the FBLA-PBL Awards of Excellence ceremonies for the FBLA high school division on July 1 and 2.

Nineteen members of the Class of 2021 were named scholarship recipients by the Radnor High School Scholarship Fund. The students received notification by mail of the awards received.

Twenty-one retiring employees were recognized for their years of service to Radnor students during the Board Meeting on June 29. Retirees celebrated their time during a reception and heard kind words from their colleagues.

RHS and RMS students recently competed in the Southeast PA National History Day Regional Contest. Ten projects placed in the top three in their category and are eligible to compete in the state round.
