Summer School

Summer school courses can be taken for remedial or original credit. *Advanced Algebra 2 will only be offered for remediation purposes. Radnor students who enroll in summer courses for acceleration or remediation purposes will keep their course requests for the fall semester. During the first week of the 2026-2027 school year, school counselors will meet with students who successfully completed summer school courses to adjust their schedules accordingly.

Attendance/Lateness

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes and arrive on time. Students who miss a session for any reason are considered absent. No credit will be given for a course if a student is absent for more than two days. Students who are late to school will have their lateness count towards days absent. If a student exceeds the absence limit, they will be withdrawn and a WD will be placed on their transcript. No refunds will be given to students who are withdrawn due to attendance issues.

Each summer school course has a midterm and final exam that each count 10% and together are worth 20% of the final grade. The other 80% of the grade is based on total points earned from homework, quizzes, tests and other projects. Since each day of summer school accounts for more than a week of instruction during the regular school year, it is imperative that students spend time studying after they leave each day. Teachers are available each day after class to assist students who may need extra help.

Students are expected to adhere to the rules and guidelines outlined in the Radnor High School Student Handbook. A Level 1 infraction that otherwise would have resulted in a detention will result in a warning. A second, and all subsequent Level 1 infractions will be considered an unmodified Level 1 behavior and will be treated as a Level 2 infraction. Provided they are not suspendable offenses, a total of three (3) Level 2 or higher infractions will result in the student being withdrawn from the course. Any infraction that would result in an Out-of-School Suspension will result in the student being withdrawn from the course. Any student who is withdrawn after June 23 will have a WD placed on their RHS transcript. No refunds will be given for students who are withdrawn for disciplinary issues. Any Level 3 or 4 infractions that would result in a multiple day Out-of-School Suspension may extend into the regular school year and involve police contact.

An official transcript will be mailed after the last day of summer school to the home address listed on the student’s registration form. Only one copy of the transcript will be mailed per student.

Summer school courses taken by students who attend Radnor High School will be added to the student’s transcript. All summer school courses will appear on the transcript of any rising freshman at Radnor High School toward the 22.5 credits required for graduation. Students may repeat a course they failed during the regular school year. If they do, both courses will appear on the student’s transcript.

Busing is not available for summer school. Students and parents must provide their own transportation. Students may park in any of the numbered spots on campus. Students should not park in the “visitor” or "transportation" spots. 

By registering, all students and parents are noting they agree to the rules set forth in the Student Parking Guidelines found in the RHS Student Handbook.

There will be no fee and no hangtag for student summer school parking.

A student may withdraw from summer school within the first three (3) days with no record on the student’s transcript. If a student withdraws any time after the first three (3) days, the student will receive a "WD" on their transcript.

No visitors are permitted during summer school.
